A lot of what is listed seems to be arbitrary. For example the changes of race names eg it mentions the change of the Golden Jubilee Stakes to the Diamond Jubilee Stakes for 2012, but the Golden Jubilee Stakes was a different name before 2002. Also the list of races held is true for the last few years only, and they have not always been the grade of races they are now.. There is no mention of the extension of Royal Ascot from 4 days to 5 days in 2002. Also as written it sounds as if the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge go to every day of Royal Ascot, which they most certainly don't.(Victor Middlesex2 (talk) 16:31, 16 May 2020 (UTC))[reply]

Fascinators no longer allowed[edit]

Seems there's a rule change - fascinators no longer allowed in the Royal Enclosure - can someone confirm and update the article? Ascot Racecourse page - USA Today article Samatva (talk) 17:59, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hospitality and dining[edit]

Does this section seem to anyone else to be more like an advertisement than an encyclopedic entry? --BHC 20:08, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Couldn't agree more!

I've deleted the whole section. A quick look around the Ascot website revealed that it had been lifted virtually word-for-word. Bcp67 18:49, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exclusivity[edit]

Should something be put in to update the entrance to the Royal Enclosure, now that tickets can be bought? (as in link) Wikiman, 20:05, 13 January, 2007 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/01/12/nraces12.xml

Wasn't this racecourse the one in My Fair Lady? Shouldn't it be mentioned? 216.197.132.133 (talk) 04:51, 3 January 2008 (UTC) Yes it was and it should be mentioned but embarrassingly the track was the wrong way round, so all the well dressed actors would appear to an Ascot racegoer to be on the then 'cheap side', (Victor Middlesex2 (talk) 16:35, 16 May 2020 (UTC)).[reply]

Shouldn't Royal Ascot's one year escapade to York be mentioned? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.39.152.65 (talk) 20:35, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Track profile[edit]

I understand that the track is very undulating. Does anyone know the actual profile and could this information be added to the article. Cuddy Wifter (talk) 07:35, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What is ladies' day?[edit]

The news today is mentioning ladies' day, and so does this wikipedia page. Could someone put in a definition? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrJeff (talkcontribs) 15:10, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Many big race meetings have a ladies' day. I don't know the specifics about Royal Ascot's ladies day but in other race meetings that have a ladies' day day there is a prize for best dressed lady. (Fran Bosh (talk) 20:00, 26 April 2023 (UTC))[reply]
